With generous help from the Sandymount Gospel Choir, the SMFP in 2017 funded the installation of a water bore in Matero, providing the schoolchildren with clean water and proper sanitation for the first time. The clean water has meant a recent outbreak of cholera in Zambia did not have the devastating effect it could have had and enabled the school to re-open long before other schools in the area.
